Young Living Bans Mink Oil And PETA Acknowledges This With Some Vegan Chocolates!
When we first joined Young Living, there was mink oil in the Rose Ointment. Rose Ointment is a deeply nourishing blend for dry skin. Rose essential oil improves skin texture, while Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) works to soothe rough, irritated skin. The product worked great, but having mink oil as an ingredient was not acceptable. Young Living listened to it's distributors and made this major, welcomed change! We applaud Young Living for this and so did PETA. PETA thanked Young Living by sending them a box of vegan chocolates.
Excerpts from the article on Peta.org (read full article here)
"World leader in essential oils and wellness solutions Young Living has ended its use of mink oil after learning from PETA that the ingredient is obtained from fat removed from the pelts of animals who were killed by the fur industry. In thanks, PETA has sent the compassionate company a box of delicious vegan chocolates."
“PETA knows that today, people want to buy from companies that share their values, and using mink oil isn’t something kind shoppers would support,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “Young Living’s decision shows that consumers and companies are rejecting the cruel fur industry, which keeps minks and other animals inside barren cages before bludgeoning, electroshocking, or skinning them alive.”
