How To Make Your Home Smell Fantastic Without Chemicals When Vacuuming

We make our own carpet freshener with baking soda and essential oils but this is a great alternative if you don't have any baking soda!
Add a cotton ball with a couple drops of essential oil to the canister and make your home smell great at the same time! If you have a bag vacuum, you can drop the cotton ball in the bag. We've tried it just dropping essential oils into the bag and it does work but only for 1-2 vacuums.
We switch up the essential oils we use but most of the time we use Purification, Thieves, Eucalyptus Radiata, Lavender or Citrus Fresh. These are essential oils from Young Living and the only oils we use. You can learn more about them here. As we mentioned above, we also make our own carpet freshener. It's super simple too! Just take a 1/2 cup of baking soda and add 5-10 drops of essential oils, mix and shake over your carpet. Wait 15-30 minutes and the vacuum.
